“Alinor” is the second novel in the “Roselynde Chronicles” series and was released in the year 1978. Alinor and Simon had great chemistry with each other. This is an author that sticks to what actually happened during a given period in her work, even if it is a tad brutal. Fans of the novel found that this featured some of the political incorrectness of the time (camp whores and a man hitting his wife). Readers found this to be quite a bit of fun to read, due to all of the humor that was in it. What Alinor owns remains with her, and any man, woman or holy crusade will need the help of God if they should get in her way. This seasoned knight is not exactly what she was expecting. She is determined to make the life of Sir Simon Lemagne’s a miserable one because she is not at all willing to be any pawn for any man or woman. Alinor has to now fight off suitors she does not want, as well as the warden too. Alinor was not married and quite a prize for some greedy men that want power and wealth.Īlinor is made a royal ward by the Queen and assigns someone to oversee Roselynde’s running as warden. Roselynde’s mistress was a young and uncannily smart person, as well as wealthy and had gotten a reputation for being protective and fierce, just as much as any lord that came before her. Lady Alinor Devaux was quite an outlier, because she lived in a period of ladies and lords. “Roselynde” is the first novel in the “Roselynde Chronicles” series and was released in the year 1978.
